Kick-off Event attracts overflow crowd

The Saratoga PAC welcomed more than 200 people to its first-event, on Wednesday, June 24th, at the Stadium Cafe, on Broadway, in Saratoga Springs. Bob Manz, Chair of the Saratoga PAC, addressed the overflow crowd and thanked everyone for coming out to show their support.

He noted that everyone in the room not only wants to see Saratoga remain a vibrant great place to live but they are also the ones who consistently volunteer to lead efforts within the community. Looking over the crowd, he noted how he sees many of these same people working to support the arts and area museums, local charitable organizations, and the many organizations that create opportunities for local families and children.

“Our goal is to encourage and support a balance between expanding economic opportunity and protecting our environment while enhancing the economic well-being and quality of life in Saratoga Springs and Saratoga County,” said Manz. “We are now actively reaching out to residents and businesses to bring our community together so that it will move forward. The actions we take in the next few weeks will unite our community to support reasonable, balanced, and progressive actions that will enhance our City’s vibrant character. We’d like to invite everyone to come Together & Forward with us to achieve this goal!”

LOCAL CITIZENS FORM SARATOGA POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE

Saratoga Springs – A group of local citizens and business leaders have banded together to create the Saratoga Political Action Committee (PAC).

Chaired by Robert (Bob) Manz, a resident of Saratoga Springs for over 45 years, the COO of D.A. Collins Companies and a local business owner, the PAC recently filed paperwork with the New York State Board of Elections and has now been authorized to raise and expend funds in keeping with all legal requirements and the PAC’s mission. The mission is to “aid, through campaign contributions, candidates and elected officials seeking local, county and state offices who demonstrate a commitment and capacity to enhance the economic well-being and quality of life in Saratoga Springs and Saratoga County in a unified and forward thinking manner.”

According to Manz, the PAC’s Board of Directors will be diverse in terms of their individual party status and all decisions will be non-partisan. The PAC intends to set up a committee of the Board to interview candidates in contested and uncontested races starting this year with the Mayor and City Council races in the City of Saratoga Springs. The group will also review the voting record and actions taken by the incumbent Mayor and Commissioners and the public statements of the challengers for those seats in determining if and whom to support.

“Our goal is to encourage and support a balance between expanding economic opportunity and protecting our environment while enhancing the economic well-being and quality of life in Saratoga Springs and Saratoga County,” said Manz. “We will be reaching out to residents and businesses seeking donations of all sizes. We will be focused on uniting our community to support reasonable, balanced, and progressive actions that will continue to enhance our region’s vibrant character for years to come.”

Besides supporting candidates, the PAC will also advocate positions on local, county and state legislation that will foster, encourage and support a balance between protecting our environment and enhancing the economic well-being and quality of life in Saratoga Springs and Saratoga County. The PAC intends to develop a unified group of citizens and business leaders who will support the PAC’s mission going forward.

The Saratoga PAC will hold a $10 per person “Burger and Beer” kick-off event at The Stadium Café, on Broadway, on Wednesday, June 24th, from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m. To register for this event or for more information about the Saratoga PAC, please visit www.saratogapac.com.
